Where Bass Go In Spring!! (And How To Catch Them)

Spring fishing is here and bass are on the move! Today we're explaining why bass are transitioning and how to predict their movements in your local lake. Let us help you get ahead of them so you aren't one of the guys struggling during the prespawn. We'll show you where the bass are headed so you can get there first and catch them as they arrive!

Before the spawn, bass focus on feeding. As they transition from Winter haunts to Spring spawning grounds, they make key stops along the way. These stops differ slightly on reservoirs, lakes, and ponds. In today's video, Tim breaks different types of fisheries into 4 groups and explains how bass move in each one. Once you've identified which group your local lake, pond, or river fits into, you're ready to fish!

Top 5 Baits For April Bass Fishing!

The best bass fishing of the year is happening now! Don't miss it! There is no better time to get on the water and catch a bunch of fish! In April, you can typically find fish in all 3 stages of the spawn and it's not hard to catch them. If you've ever wanted to learn a new technique, or target a big bass, this is the time!

Bass can be caught on a mix of fast moving reaction baits and slow, bottom contact presentations. When it comes to reaction baits, we put a lot of emphasis on standing out from the crowd. We're using baits with flash, vibration, and sound to get the bass' attention. When it comes to soft baits, it's all about a natural presentation. We find that baits with some blue in them will often catch more fish than other colors.

Targeting Spring Bass During Unstable Water Conditions (Storms, Flood, Dropping Water)

Come along for a fun day on the water as the guys target bass between storms. The lake is being lowered in preparation for another Spring storm and it has the bass on the move! These fish want to spawn but there's no opportunity with the water levels constantly fluctuating. Come along as Tim explains their movements and catches quality fish!

We love to power fish and cover water in Spring, but when we finally locate them it's time to slow down. Tim explains how he's using his Raptors (shallow water anchors) to creep along a shallow edge to catch more fish. Once the fish are located you can throw a variety of baits, as displayed by the guys catching them on both a glide bait and a dropshot from the same area. The key is locating an area where those fish can stabilize, regardless of which way the water is moving.
