Flipping, Swim Jig And Frog! This NEW Lake Is Full Of GIANT Bass!

Come along for an amazing day of bass fishing!! We're targeting shallow fish around cover and we find a GIANT! It's not easy fishing in the heat, but when bass like these are willing to eat, it's worth it! From the jig to the frog, this day is going to be wild!

You never know what you'll face when you arrive at a new lake. Today we find ourselves in a maze of shallow cover that goes for miles and miles. In order to break it down quickly we decide to focus on the outside edges of shallow cover. The swim jig kicked us off, the flipping jig got the 9 lber, and the frog wrapped up the day with some fun!

Chatterbait VS Swim Jig !! Shallow Water Bass Fishing!

The chatterbait and swim jig are both awesome! Come along for a fun day of fish catching in shallow water! Both the swim jig and the chatterbait are proven fish catchers, but a lot of anglers struggle to understand when to use each style. Today Matt is focusing on these two baits, as well as a frog, to target fish around shallow cover.

For us, the choice between these proven shallow water options is the cover you're fishing around (or through). The chatterbait has amazing drawing power, can cover water quickly, and can be fished erratically. However, it struggles in thick vegetation. The swim jig doesn't have nearly the drawing power, but makes up for it in ability. A swim jig can go anywhere, fish through anything, and gets BIG bites! Add in a frog for good measure and you've got a proven system for shallow water fishing!

Today's Buyer's guide is all about jig fishing! These are the best swim jigs, flipping jigs, football jigs and micro jigs we can find! We're covering jigs by application and looking at how head shapes and hook sizes impact the baits. We're also covering our favorite jig trailers for each jig style, as well as the rods we rely on to throw the various jigs.

Jig fishing is a staple bass fishing technique. If you're not comfortable catching bass with jigs you still have room to grow as an angler. Luckily, the technique is actually quite simple and we can narrow it down for you with this guide. You don't need every jigs style. Typically one or two jigs will cover all the situations you'll face on your lake. Once you've chosen those, there will be several viable trailer options, a few key colors, and you're done!
