How To Lose A 10 Lber In The Cold 😳😂 Late Fall Bass Fishing Fail!

Sometimes the fish win! Unfortunately its usually the really big ones that do! We work really hard to put the odds in our favor but its still fishing, and sometimes things go wrong. Come along for a crazy day on Lake Chickamauga! Air temps in the 40's but the bass are up shallow and willing to eat!

Could the pattern get any stranger? Half the bites coming on an Alabama Rig, the other half on a frog. We're not sure why, but we're not arguing either! Tim got a shot at a true Chickamauga GIANT bass but she had other plans. If you quit fishing in the Fall because its getting cold, these are the days you're missing! Get back out there!

Simple Trick To Catch Bass When Its Cold!

When cold snaps hit, fishing can be brutal! Here's a quick trick we use to get fish to react and bite when they won't touch anything else! Whether they've suspended, gone deep, or just developed lock jaw, cracking a tube is a great way to catch bass in the cold. 

We all love to power fish in the Fall but when cold weather comes in, that bite can shut down in a hurry. Turning to baits like the dropshot, Neko rig, Ned rig, or slow dragging a tube are all great ways to get a bite. But if you still want to get them to react, try cracking the tube. Instead of using your standard tube head, grab a 1/2 - 3/4 ounce head. Let the bait fall to bottom then use a sharp double snap of the rod to get the bait to hop up off the bottom and fall back down on a semi-tight line. Something about these erratic movements draws a reaction strike, even during these tough conditions.

Must Try Tricks For Fall Finesse Fishing!

These finesse fishing tricks will help you catch more fish! Don't just throw the same old lures hoping the bass suddenly change. This Fall, if you face tough conditions, try one of these tips to get more bites. We love to power fish but when its time for finesse, we go all in! From unique shapes and profiles, to actions and colors that other anglers aren't throwing, this will help you get the next bite when things get tough. 

When faced with tough conditions Tim uses a 2-pronged approach to get consistent bites. He rigs a bait that will suspend off the bottom, and another that will make bottom contact. He's got a handful of baits to choose from in each category but making sure both are covered is the key. As is often the case, this topic started off very simple with 4 bait recommendations but we can rarely resist the temptation to go down the rabbit hole so before it was over Tim was giving away tips on a dozen different options that each have a time and place in your bass fishing line up.

Grass Fishing! Flukes And Topwater Tricks For Fall Bass Fishing!

Come along as we chase bass in the shallow grass! The baitfish have moved into the shallows and the bass are gorging on them! We're using a combination of flukes, walking baits, and frogs to reach the fish through changing conditions. Be sure to pay close attention to Matt's perspective on color when it comes to topwater lures!

The day starts off with heavy fog, then switches to clear skies, followed by wind, pre-frontal conditions, and ultimately it starts raining. Conditions don't get much crazier than that!
