Catching BIG BASS On Clearlake! + Frog Fishing Tips For Beginners!

Matt returns to Clearlake! Its been a year but you wouldn't know it because the BIG Bass start biting right away!! He's fishing with his dad and brother, targeting fish with a frog, chatterbait, and assorted topwater lures. You're not going to want to miss this slugfest!

In the midst of hammering quality fish Matt stops and shares a few frog fishing tricks to help you become a successful frog fisherman overnight. If you've struggled to hook your fish, keep them pinned, or just plain haven't got the "feel" of frog fishing, he's talking to you. CLEARLAKE Fishing When Its HOT! ( Catching Bass With Ross England )

We're back!! Matt is teaming up with Ross England for a day on Clearlake and the bass are in trouble! Come along as Matt tries some Southern tricks on these Western bass and Ross goes to work with a topwater as temperatures soar up to 106 degrees! Today is full of laughs, good times, and knowledge about fishing, traveling, and Clearlake. 

When these two get in the boat, bass are going to be caught! Matt starts the day with a Scrounger and fluke, a combination that is rarely fished on Clearlake. It doesn't take long to start catching fish! Ross chips away with a Super Spook in search of a big bite, and the guys finally wrap it up with some beautiful frog fish in the afternoon.

In the past these explosions were often met with disappointment when the bass didn't hook up. But with today's advances in equipment, frog design, and hook shapes, you can have an excellent catch rate, even in heavy cover!

Frog Fishing Shallow Cover - Post Spawn Bass Fishing

They're eating the frog! Come along for an evening on Chickamauga as Tim targets bass in shallow cover. He's using a subtle popping frog to lure bass out of the grass and debris along the shore and following up with a light flipping rig when needed. Its a beautiful evening to be on the water, let's go fishing! 

The lake has been rising and bass are pushing back in the shallow cover. With so much flooded grass, its difficult to reach the bass with traditional baits but its perfect for the frog! Tim used a variety of different topwater baits but one frog stood out from the crowd. Tim found the subtle popping action of a Gavacho was exactly what the fish were keyed on.
