EPIC Bass Fishing On A Secret Lake In East Texas!

Imagine Texas bass fishing in the prespawn and you're the only anglers on the lake. Its amazing! We've all grown up watching TV shows of guys catching giant fish from private waters and we've all wondered what it would be like to experience that kind of fishing for a day. The crew at Briar Lakes was gracious enough to let us visit their ranch and we got to have that experience!

The boys dialed in a variety of different patterns. Bass were moving shallow and feeding aggressively. Topwater proved to be king for the big bites, while an underspin and chatterbait were key on deeper structures. Bass could be caught on almost anything they threw, but key baits still caught the best fish.

Matt's new jet boat made a big splash in recent months and today we're taking a tour! The black boat named "Strawberry" is the culmination of years of planning, preparation, and destroyed boats. The guys have crashed and sunk multiple times and learned valuable lessons along the way. Matt's new completely custom jet boat was built by Mike Watson of Bulletproof boats. It's built on his famed "Creek Runner" tunnel hull, with a standing center console. Two Overlooked Baits For April Bass Fishing!

Jump in the boat with Matt as he explores a new lake! April Bass Fishing brings unique challenges as Bass move into the shallows. The fish begin spreading out, often holding tight to cover, making it more difficult to target them with Spring power fishing techniques. Today Matt had planned to target fish with fast moving baits, but he quickly realized it wasn't going to happen and he needed to adapt.

When the going gets tough, the guys at TacticalBassin have a handful of baits they rely on to consistently catch fish. In April, there are two that Matt has been turning to, to ensure he catches fish. The first is a shaky head and the second is a new version of the senko. A shaky head worm is no secret, but he's relying on a much smaller worm than usual. The senko is a bait we've all trusted or years, but the new Fuzzy version is getting bites when nothing else will.
