Bold colors work incredibly well in Spring, especially in stained water. Come along as we explore, adapt, and catch giant bass!

Chartreuse and Blue are two of the most underrated colors in fishing. They may not work every day on every lake, but they tend to get larger than average bites. If you've been overlooking these bold colors, you may want to second guess that decision. Today the guys were applying them in fast moving current below giant dams on the Tennessee river, and the bass (and drum) couldn't resist!

Finding Fish In A New Lake! ( This Crazy Pattern Worked!! )

We're on a new lake and it's a good thing he saw the birds! We're deep in the South with an evening to burn so we're fishing a new lake. It's covered in lily pads with tons of cover along the shorelines. Everything about this lake says "fish shallow cover" but when Matt saw birds diving, the light tackle came out and he got bit on the first cast!

If you'd told Matt ahead of time that he'd be throwing light spinning tackle in open water on a lake like this, he would have thought you were crazy! This is why it's so important to keep an open mind when you approach a new lake. Pay attention to what the fish are saying and keep an eye on your environment for any clues. This evening, the birds were working bait and Matt was sure the fish wouldn't be far behind.
