Mini Underspins + Other Early Spring Tricks For Big Bass!

Get ready for a 31+ lb limit of bass with a spinning rod! Come along for an awesome day on the water! Matt is searching for prespawn bass that are moving into the shallows but what he finds is staging fish that are ready to eat! This is an action packed day full of big fish on light tackle!

Typically when we catch 30+ lbs we do it with a swimbait. Today all but 2 of the fish were caught on spinning rods with a mini underspin and a mid strolling bait. These fish were fired up and ready to feed but it took 3 hours for Matt to figure it out. Reading the conditions and being willing to adapt are critical elements of success on the water!

BUYER'S GUIDE: HOVER STROLLING AND MID STROLLING!

These are two of the fastest growing trends in bass fishing! While neither is new, both are exploding onto the scene and you should take notice! Today we're exploring the finesse technique known as "hover strolling", along with the power technique known as "mid strolling". Both are effective and after today, you'll understand how to apply them to your fishing.

Hover strolling is a finesse presentation that allows small soft plastics to fall with an irregular gliding and spiraling action. You can also work these baits through the water column with a gentle slack line shaking motion. Mid strolling is very similar but employs heavier jigheads and involves more aggressive shaking to draw a reaction strike from cautious fish.
