Dropshot Tricks For Hot Summer Fishing! (Beginner To Advanced)

This isn't your dad's finesse dropshot fishing! Punching, Flipping, Creature baits, and yes, small profiles and finesse too! The dropshot is more versatile than most angler's realize. If you've compartmentalized it as a finesse technique, you're missing a lot of amazing dropshot opportunities in the Summer!

In today's video Tim is covering standard dropshot fishing, including some of his key baits. But he's also adapting the method for grass, for heavy cover punching and flipping, and even for Bait Finesse (BFS) applications. The dropshot is far more versatile than we give it credit for and today Tim finally took the time to show us how it's done.

Dropshot Fishing For Summer Bass! (Swimbait And Topwater Bites Too)

Come along for an awesome Summer day on the water! We're catching fish on swimbaits and topwater, but the real fish catcher today is the dropshot. When finesse is what the fish want, you hunker down and catch them with it! Watch Tim and Wes adapt to changing conditions and dial in an awesome pattern!

Some of the fish are active and willing to chase, but many are holding tight to cover. Once we realize these fish don't want to leave the comfort of their grass beds, we really start to catch them! The Dropshot is a very effective technique, especially when adapted for fishing around cover.

Underwater Dropshot Footage! Best Dropshot Worms For Bass Fishing!

Let's head underwater to watch how different plastic worms move, and which baits the fish attack! With hundreds of drop shot baits on the market, its almost impossible to know which baits to try first. Luckily, we've done the hard part for you and compiled a list of our favorite baits. Our selections are backed by underwater bite footage, underwater action shots, and years of traveling the country testing the baits in different lakes and environments. 

When selecting the right worm or bait for a dropshot there are some variables to consider. Which species of bass are you targeting? Is the water warm or cold? Are there a lot of small baitfish (minnows) present in the area? If you can answer these questions we can easily help you choose the right baits for your situation. Once you've chose the right baits, it comes down to color. Color selection can be incredibly intimidating but often times simple is best. If you have a green pumpkin, a purple, and a natural baitfish color, you can meet almost any situation you'll face on any lake in the country.
