How To Catch Bass During The Fall To Winter Transition (Cold Water Baits)

Catching fish can be tricky this time of year! Some anglers are catching big fish every trip out while others are catching nothing at all. The difference is a combination of the baits they're using and their ability to trigger a feed response. 

If you're throwing the same old baits, you're probably going to struggle during this transition. Its time to get out of your comfort zone! Focus your attention on aggressive baits like speed cranking, jerkbaits, A-rigs, and blade baits to get consistent bites. If you insist on slow fishing, focus on key baits like jigs and ned rigs to get bit. This time of year can be amazing, you just have to branch out to experience it.

Jig Fishing Tricks You Need When Its HOT!

Want to catch bigger fish this Summer? Here are 4 tricks you can try to catch more fish on jigs. Whether you have crystal clear water, muddy water, or somewhere in between, there is a trick here that will help you catch bigger bass this Summer!

If you lean toward finesse fishing, pay close attention to the first two tips. Downsizing to a micro or finesse jig will get you quality bites on a clear water fishery. If you like to power fish and haven't tried stroking a jig, its time to experience some of the most brutal strikes you'll ever get on a jig. If you like flipping and punching, don't forget to try the jig to upsize your catch and increase your hookup ratio.

Cold Water Jig Trick When Bass Won't Bite!

Some days the fish don't want to cooperate, that's when this trick works! With snow and freezing rain coming, Tim couldn't get bit on any of his power fishing techniques. He dropped down to a jig and they wouldn't eat that either! When he made a subtle switch to a cold water trick that is often forgotten, the fish started coming in the boat!

The Hula Grub is a bait that most anglers have forgotten. Its a highland reservoir secret when bass don't want to bite but it can work on any lake in the country. Something about its subtle kicking action triggers cold water fish into biting. If you're struggling to get bit on the jig, even a finesse jig, you should give a Hula Grub a try. Its an inexpensive alternative to jig fishing and it gets bit all Winter long!
