Chatterbait And Swim Jig Tricks For Summer Bass!

Bladed jigs and swim jigs are great lures for catching bass in Summer! They can be fished in and around cover and can catch bass in all sorts of different environments. However, there are some key details to fishing these baits in Summer that differs from other times of year. 

Fishing a chatterbait or swim jig in Summer is all about grass and heavy cover. Your rod and line are two key details that most anglers overlook this time of year. The same setup you were using in Spring may not be right for Summer fishing. The key is to create a situation where the baits have "hang time" as they break free of grass and debris. Once you dial in this trick you will catch way more fish than the other anglers around you.

Swim Jig and Chatterbait Tips For Prespawn Bass In The Shallows

Want to see how we approach heavy cover and shallow grass? Come along for a day on the water as Tim targets fish around cover in Florida! He’s using Swim Jigs and Chatterbaits on a windy day to consistently catch fish in the shallows. 

There are two approaches to shallow water fishing with reaction baits. The first approach is to fish close to the cover and draw fish out to bite. The second is to plow through the thickest cover and draw a reaction strike from the fish without ever getting them to move from their protected location. With the wind blowing all day, Tim is able to switch between a swim jig and chatterbait to catch quality fish with both of these methods.

RAW and UNCUT Fishing For BIG Bass!

Get out of the heat and catch bigger bass! Summer night fishing is so much fun! If you're tired of getting beat up by the sun and grinding it out in the heat, it might be time for you to hit the lake in the dark. Once you're used to the darkness, night fishing is easier than fishing in the day. Most nights the fishing is very good, though it will take some time to learn the fine details.
