Swim Jig and Chatterbait Tips For Prespawn Bass In The Shallows

Want to see how we approach heavy cover and shallow grass? Come along for a day on the water as Tim targets fish around cover in Florida! He’s using Swim Jigs and Chatterbaits on a windy day to consistently catch fish in the shallows. 

There are two approaches to shallow water fishing with reaction baits. The first approach is to fish close to the cover and draw fish out to bite. The second is to plow through the thickest cover and draw a reaction strike from the fish without ever getting them to move from their protected location. With the wind blowing all day, Tim is able to switch between a swim jig and chatterbait to catch quality fish with both of these methods.

Underspins and Chatterbaits = Awesome Spring Bass Fishing!

Come along for a day on the water throwing reaction for Largemouth! Watch as Tim builds a pattern with an underspin and spinnerbait, then dials it in with a chatterbait. Adapting to changing conditions is a critical aspect of Spring bass fishing and Tim pulls it off perfectly despite constantly changing conditions. 

Spring bass fishing requires constant adaptation. Today is sunny and warm, tomorrow it might be snowing. For Tim, he faced cold temperatures, wind, rain, sun, and shock boats, all in a few hours. However, if someone shows you how to break down a grass flat you'll immediately see it in a new light. Edges suddenly become defined, grass types stand out, and fish become incredibly predictable! Chatterbait and Topwater! Exploring New Lake During ICAST!

Forget the show, we're going fishing!! ICAST is awesome but you've already seen enough coverage of the new baits and gear... its time to catch some bass! We're exploring the Orlando area and sticking a ton of fish on a chatterbait, frog, and whopper plopper! Come along as we break down a new fishery and adapt to changing conditions before a big thunderstorm rolls in. 

Florida isn't known for the greatest Summer fishing... but it should be! Sure its hot... really hot... but the bass don't seem to care. You can catch them offshore or right up on the bank, it just depends on your style. Today we started offshore and while we caught fish, they weren't the right size. We moved up shallow into backwater canals and shallow coves and immediately started getting quality bites.
