The concept behind the ned rig is very simple. An angler rigs a very small "do nothing" worm on a mushroom head so it will stand up on the bottom and fishes it with as little movement as possible. Something about this basic method will catch fish when nothing else will. Since the inception of the technique, the market has become littered with adaptations for nearly every situation. Top Baits For Winter Bass Fishing! (Cold Water Fishing)

It won't be long now, Winter is coming! These are the baits we rely on as temperatures drop, water gets cold, and bass move into their Winter haunts. Winter fishing is a great way to catch a giant bass so forget about winterizing your boat! Head out on the water, keep these baits in mind, and fish with confidence.

There are two different approaches to Winter bass fishing. The first approach is finesse fishing. By dropping to lighter line, lighter hooks, smaller baits, and slower movements, you increase the odds of lethargic fish biting. The second is power fishing. This method is about presenting large meals in ways that cause fish to react and ignore the cold. When this method is done properly you can drive a fish to attack at full speed, even in the coldest temperatures!

Simple Trick To Catch Bass When Its Cold!

When cold snaps hit, fishing can be brutal! Here's a quick trick we use to get fish to react and bite when they won't touch anything else! Whether they've suspended, gone deep, or just developed lock jaw, cracking a tube is a great way to catch bass in the cold. 

We all love to power fish in the Fall but when cold weather comes in, that bite can shut down in a hurry. Turning to baits like the dropshot, Neko rig, Ned rig, or slow dragging a tube are all great ways to get a bite. But if you still want to get them to react, try cracking the tube. Instead of using your standard tube head, grab a 1/2 - 3/4 ounce head. Let the bait fall to bottom then use a sharp double snap of the rod to get the bait to hop up off the bottom and fall back down on a semi-tight line. Something about these erratic movements draws a reaction strike, even during these tough conditions.
