Summer Gear Review! Topwater, Crankbaits, Jigs, and Soft Plastics!

Let's see what's new! We've been testing a variety of new baits and today we're showing the best of the best! We've got a unique topwater, new frogs, crankbaits, swimbaits, and more. Summer is a great time to catch fish and there are some great new designs available to help you do just that. Some of today's baits are great improvements on existing designs, while others are truly unique creations. Let's take a look!

To kick it off we've got 3 topwater lures. The first is a custom approach to front runners that is going to help a lot of anglers catch schooling bass. After that we've got the complete redesign of the the Snagproof line of frogs, and finally a new size in the Spro Bronzeye series. 

For crankbaits we've got the Jackall Digle which takes a familiar Jackall shape and couples it with an awesome bill that will let the bait go anywhere. Next is a giant crankbait that reaches ultra-deep but fishes comfortably on mid-sized gear.

Crazy Underwater Footage Of Bass Attacking Jigs!! **Slow Motion Strikes**

Come along as we head underwater to watch bass interact with their prey! We're using jigs to imitate crawfish and small panfish and the bass can't get enough! Its fascinating to watch how the bass approach the lures, what makes them strike, and what makes them cautious. Some of the strikes are so vicious we needed to switch to slow motion footage to even see the bass attack!

Every time we head underwater we learn something new about bass behavior. In today's clips it was fascinating to watch how the fish inhaled the jigs. When the fish were cautious, they would only bite the claws. When they were made they inhaled the jig in a 2 or 3-step process. In every interaction it was clear the bass were aware of the jig's "claws" and made sure to incapacitate the claws first. 

What did you take away from the video? Do you notice any behavioral mannerisms? Did you see a favorite bait or trailer? Perhaps it was the subtle kick of the Paca Chunk, or the violent whipping motion of the Rage Craw?

How To Choose The Best Jigs For Spring Bass Fishing (Beginner To Advanced Tricks)

So many jigs, so little time! We all know jigs catch BIG bass in Spring but with all the different colors, sizes, and styles, how do you know which jig to fish with? Matt cuts through the hype and the chaos and shows just how simple jig fishing can be. He demonstrates how two or three jigs can be used to match every situation, then gives up his favorite trick to catch bass after Spring storms. 

Spring jig fishing doesn't have to be complicated. As Matt demonstrates, an angler can buy a pitching jig and a pack of trailers and catch fish in nearly every circumstance. Digging a little deeper, that same angler can pick up a football jig and a flipping jig, and dial in the pattern no matter the conditions. Color selection doesn't have to be difficult either. Leaning toward natural tones in clear water and dark tones in muddy water will get consistent bites, and let's not forget Matt's Chartreuse core trick.

Wide Open Winter Bass Fishing! Its A Slugfest!

Come along for a day on the water as we pound the fish while battling the cold! Most anglers think the Winter is tough fishing but it can be amazing! We're targeting fish with a wide variety of baits but the big ones are eating a tube and a jig on this cold Winter day! 

This is a Highland Reservoir with water temperatures in the mid to upper 40's and water clarity of 5 to 8 feet. We found bass positioned in 20-50 feet of water on outside points and breaks with quick deep water access. At the end of the day we found a bonus pattern with bass in shallow water feeding aggressively around the remnants of a grass mat. We caught fish on a variety of baits today but our best success came on a 5/8 ounce jig with a double tail grub, a 1/2 oz Tube, a blade bait, and a Dark Sleeper.
