Tim's BIGGEST Florida Bass EVER! Flipping Heavy Cover!

We got a break in the weather and the giants are coming out to play! Come along for an awesome day on the water and watch Tim pull a GIANT bass out of the thick stuff! We're on a brand new lake in Florida but it doesn't take long to get bit. Tim's first bite is a BEAST!

Its amazing what happens when the air temps rise a few degrees! We're exploring a new fishery and have no idea what to expect. Since its been cold we start out with the flipping sticks and it doesn't take long for Tim to set the hook on an almost 9 lb bass. After the excitement subsides we start moving around and exploring more of the fishery, catching fish on the senko and ultimately  weedless swimbait.

While we know very little about the actual lake we're on, the bass fishing concepts still apply. By adapting to the changing conditions we were able to catch a giant bass as well as build a pattern to get consistent bites. All of the baits we used in today's video are linked in the description below. We've included the specific hooks, colors, etc... where applicable, as well as the rods and reels necessary to get these fish out of heavy cover.

Bank Fishing: How To Catch The Biggest Bass Of Your Life!

Fishing from shore is a huge advantage when targeting trophy bass! Many anglers don't realize how big of a factor "stealth" is when searching for the true giants. Sure, you can't cover as much water, but the element of surprise far outweighs that minor problem. Today Tim teaches which spots to spend your time on whether you're on a big lake or a tiny pond.

Shore-based angling gives the angler a variety of advantages. You get different cast angles than boats, access to inside grass lines, backsides of lay downs, and most of all, stealth. There is no engine sound, no sonar ping, nothing to tell the bass their next meal might not be real. The only tricky part is that you have to be around big bass to catch big bass.

The bass will position differently depending on the baitfish they're hunting. For example, trout/kokanee eaters will be found on long-tapering points, choke points, and funnels. Shad/Panfish eaters will use backwaters and shoreline anomalies. The final keys are time of day, and lure selection. Below you'll find links to our favorite baits for targeting these fish, based on what they're hunting and the size of the lake/pond they are in. The links go directly to Tackle Warehouse where you can see detailed photos and descriptions of each item.

How To Catch Your PB Bass Right Now!

Want to catch bigger bass? This is prime time to do it! Catching a new PB is achievable and we want to help you do it! There are a handful of proven baits that produce consistent success once you understand HOW and WHEN to fish them. Come along as we dive into the mindset behind targeting trophy bass in the Fall and Winter.

Trophy bass are caught consistently using a two-part method. You'll need to dial in two different patterns to work at different times. You'll want a bait that imitates the bass' favorite forage during "prime time" to fool them into biting, but you'll also need to identify a bait that can trigger a feed response during lower percentage times of day.

Understanding which baits to throw at what time of day makes all the difference. In previous videos we've discussed exactly where these big bass are located this time of year but the missing piece of the puzzle until today was understanding WHEN to target those fish.

Below you'll find links to our favorite baits to "fool" the bass along with our favorite baits to trigger a "feed response". The links go directly to Tackle Warehouse where you'll see detailed photos and descriptions of each item.

How To Fish A Tube: Everything You Need To Know! **GIANT Smallmouth Caught!**

A Tube will catch everything that swims! When you know how to use the different tube styles and sizes, heads, hooks, and colors, the tube becomes incredibly adaptable! They work all year long no matter how shallow or deep you're fishing. Today Matt and CC put them to work on a pile of 4-6 lb Smallmouth in crystal clear water and take the time to teach you every detail of the technique along the way.

Despite its effectiveness the tube is often overlooked by anglers. Its not as popular as the dropshot or ned rig but if forget to throw it, you're missing an incredible opportunity! When you learn to mix it in with the other baits it becomes even more effective. Today Matt and CC implemented stubby tubes, heavy wire hooks, and when the bite slowed, mixed in a ned rig to make sure they weren't leaving any fish behind.

Below is a breakdown of the baits and equipment used and discussed in today's video. The links go directly to tackle warehouse where you can see detailed photos and descriptions of each item. We've included the different head styles, tube styles, etc... that will help you become a well rounded tube fisherman.

Today's Exact Baits...

Matt's Tube- Big Bite Baits Salt Tube 3.5" (Green Pump Blk Org): https://bit.ly/2D7j6RX

CC's Tube- Big Bite Baits Tour Tube 3.5" (Green Pump Blue): http://bit.ly/32e23VR

Ned Worm- Missile Baits Ned Bomb (Green Pumpkin Flash): http://bit.ly/2XCOGwd

Today's Exact Heads...

Tube: Blade Runner Inhaler 3/16 with 2/0 Hook: https://bit.ly/2NX7nYr

Ned: Swagger Tungsten Flanders Head 1/6 oz: http://bit.ly/2KcIB6M

Favorite Tubes For Different Situations...

Tournament Tube (Skinny)- Dry Creek Tournament 3.5: http://bit.ly/2cJwI6r

Colors: Crazy Eddie, Old Ugly, Green Pumpkin

Standard Tube- Big Bite Baits Tour Tube 3.5": http://bit.ly/32e23VR

Colors: Green Pump Blue, Tilapia, Green Pump Purp Copper

Fat Tube (Double Dip)- Dry Creek Full Body Double Dip: https://bit.ly/38BgQ15

Colors: Bama Craw, Buzzard Snot, Columbia Craw

Finesse Tube (2.5"): Big Bite Baits 2.5": https://bit.ly/3ivlceF

Colors: Green Pumpkin Pepper, Light Melon Perch

Favorite Heads...

-Blade Runner Inhaler: https://bit.ly/2NX7nYr

The BEST head we've found for a stout (but small) hook! The 1/0 is perfect for 2.5" tubes, the 2/0 is perfect for all standard tubes/double dip tubes, and a 3/0 is a great pairing for full size 4" tubes. Again this is a small hook but heavy wire. You can still set it with standard spinning tackle but there is no fear of ever bending it out on a fish. If you know you're around big fish, this is the head.

-Bite Me Flat Eye Tube Head: http://bit.ly/2diyVXK

This has been my favorite tube head for years. Its narrow enough to fit in any tube and has an excellent medium wire hook.

-Swagger Tungsten Tube Head: https://bit.ly/31Kmcpq

This head is small for its size due to tungsten's density so its easier to fit it into various tubes than its lead counterparts. Its an EWG-style hook, not a round bend. Some anglers prefer one style over another, we've been experimenting with EWG this past year.

-Bite Me Tackle Goby Head: http://bit.ly/2CV3o7S

This is the head for fishing deep or cracking a tube! Heavy weights with an excellent medium wire hook.
