What Gear Do We Really Use? Take A Look! (Cross Country Road Trip)

Ever wonder what we've really got in the boat? What lures are we actually carrying below deck? Which Covid slowing down we decided to drive all the way across the country to fish and spend time with family. We loaded the boats with everything we thought we'd need (tools, gear, and a variety of tackle) and set out on a national road trip with the families. Today Tim is opening up all the lockers and showing you what gear really made the cut. Which baits and what gear did he consider "must haves" for fishing in multiple states.

Its hard enough to choose what to throw first when you go out on the lake. Try to imagine packing to fish dozens of lakes you've never seen before. Even harder, some are in the South (Summer heat) and others are up North (clear water and prespawn). As overwhelming as that may be, we've done it a few times now and are very confident in our gear selection. We wanted to share with you what made the cut and what didn't.

We can make countless videos about specific baits and techniques but there is something about taking a look under the locker lids for yourself that is very satisfying. Now how can you apply this to your fishing? The gear that we carry cross country can be downsized into just a box or two for fishing on your local lake. Where we might carry a box of spinnerbaits, a box of lipless, a box of deep cranks, you can turn around and build a box with a spinnerbait, a chatterbait, a lipless, a small glide bait, etc... and on a smaller scale you're now prepared for any situation you can face on the water.

Below is a breakdown of our top lures from each category. We've also included a handful of rod recommendations that are "do alls", those select rods that seem to be able to throw a variety of different baits, allowing us to save time, money, and space on the boat. The links go directly to Tackle Warehouse where you can see detailed photos and descriptions of each item.

Tackle Organization: How We Store Our Gear - New Ideas!

Its time for serious tackle organization! We've all been hit by this unexpected quarantine and we chose to make the best of it. Tim spent a few days dialing in his gear and he's finally got it perfected. Want to get the maximum number of crankbaits in a small box? Want to mix senkos with hooks while avoiding any concerns of rust? Tired of your different hooks mixing together every time you run in rough water? This is for you!

Tim started playing with the Edge boxes when they first came out but it wasn't until the quarantine that he really jumped in. The Edge Terminal box offered storage solutions unlike anything else. By individually compartmentalizing all his small hooks he has avoided the never-ending struggle of hooks mixing together. The box itself resists rust and was a no-brainer with all the free time to organize hooks. From there he began finding niches for all of his tackle storage needs.

Below is a breakdown of some of Tim's favorite boxes for different techniques. The links go directly to Tackle Warehouse where you can see detailed photos and descriptions. If you've been considering upgrading your tackle organization, we're very happy with these boxes so far.

Spring Bass Fishing Gear Review - Top New Baits and Rods For 2020!

A TON of awesome new baits and gear have already hit the market this Spring! Between the Bassmaster Classic and the start of prime fishing season across the south, the influx of new offerings is crazy! Today we're wading through the new gear in search of the best of the best. We've tried a huge variety of baits and gear and compiled a short list of items that are worth taking a serious look at.

Today's video is focused around baits and equipment that will have a tangible impact on your fishing. From the Hog Farmer Flex Rigs and their ability to draw drastically more strikes than stiffer rigs, to the Quiver worm's ability to shake and shimmy unlike anything we've ever seen before, every item in today's video has the ability to help you catch more fish. When it comes to rods, we looked at both ends of the spectrum.

Crankbait rods are one of the most difficult selections an angler can make because different sizes and styles of crankbaits require such different equipment to maximize their potential. The Intenza comes in at a budget-friendly price and is probably the most adaptable crankbait rod we've used to date. On the higher end of the gear spectrum, both the St. Croix and the Poison Adrena bring incredible sensitivity within reach, and the Twin Power delivers ultra high-end performance at a reduced price.

Below you'll find a breakdown of all the equipment from today's video in the order they appeared. We've included links that go directly to Tackle Warehouse where you can see the products in detail. For the baits, we've even included color recommendations and rigging advice. We hope you find this gear review helpful!
