Post Spawn Bass Fishing Gear Review!

In today's gear review we're looking at a new worm, crankbait, swimbait, fishing line, and so much more! Whether you're looking to catch a big fish, want to try something new, or maybe you need to do a better job of protecting your gear, there is something here for everyone. As we enter the post-spawn period between Spring and Summer bass become aggressive all over the country, its time to go fishing!

We've had a long Spring full of quarantines and closed lakes to let our tackle addictions run wild. Today's video is the best of the best from all the tackle and equipment we've been trying lately. Spring Bass Fishing Gear Review - Top New Baits and Rods For 2020!

A TON of awesome new baits and gear have already hit the market this Spring! Between the Bassmaster Classic and the start of prime fishing season across the south, the influx of new offerings is crazy! Today we're wading through the new gear in search of the best of the best. We've tried a huge variety of baits and gear and compiled a short list of items that are worth taking a serious look at. 

Today's video is focused around baits and equipment that will have a tangible impact on your fishing. From the Hog Farmer Flex Rigs and their ability to draw drastically more strikes than stiffer rigs, to the Quiver worm's ability to shake and shimmy unlike anything we've ever seen before, every item in today's video has the ability to help you catch more fish. When it comes to rods, we looked at both ends of the spectrum. 

Crankbait rods are one of the most difficult selections an angler can make because different sizes and styles of crankbaits require such different equipment to maximize their potential. The Intenza comes in at a budget-friendly price and is probably the most adaptable crankbait rod we've used to date. On the higher end of the gear spectrum, both the St. Croix and the Poison Adrena bring incredible sensitivity within reach, and the Twin Power delivers ultra high-end performance at a reduced price.

We love the subtle baits in cold water, the aggressive flapping baits in warm water, and a compact profile in heavy cover. Its hard to beat a big worm dragged deep in Summer or a slow falling stick bait for shallow Spring bass. The good news is we've already done the hard work!

Don't waste time with mediocre baits, focus on the proven options that put big bass in the boat every day. Matt shows his favorite picks for soft baits, hard baits, rods, and reels in today's Big Swimbait Holiday Buyer's Guide.

When it comes to soft baits Matt and Tim prefer baits with a jig hook on top. When necessary they switch to a weedless offering around thick cover. Baits like the Huddleston and Trash Fish are great in cooler water while the more rigid boot tail style baits shine year round. Color selection should be focused on imitating the prey species in your local lake but we've included a few color recommendations with each swimbait to give you a starting point.

For hard baits, we focused on a variety of different profiles. We've selected great options that imitate trout, baitfish, and panfish. No matter where you are in the country, these hard baits will help you catch giant bass. Don't be afraid to upsize your offering this year. You may be shocked to find that larger baits actually get more attention from bass and will often draw them from great distances to inspect your swimbait.
