The Best Chatterbait and Spinnerbaits Tricks You've Never Tried!

These tricks and modifications will change your spinnerbait and chatterbait fishing! With underwater footage to help understand the tips, this video will help you catch more fish. We cover everything from skirt modifications to blade options, trailer tricks to color selection in today's in-depth look at how to put a new twist on these bass fishing classics.

Some anglers prefer to keep it casual, settling on a favorite bait and just going fishing. Others prefer to dive in to the details and really fine tune their tackle. This video has both anglers in mind. We begin with simple selections and advance to skirt modifications and trailer tricks you've never seen before.

In addition, Matt takes the time to share his favorite spinnerbaits in each category then follows it up with details about what makes them so unique. One bait is best for muddy water, another will get bit in ultra-clear conditions. When it comes to chatter baits, he emphasizes the importance of a bait that is quick to start its vibration and focuses on trailers who's movements match the blades'.

Below is a breakdown of the baits, trailers, and colors we trust to consistently catch fish. We've also included links to previous In-Depth videos we've done on both spinnerbaits and chatter baits.

Is Lake Chickamauga Really That Good? (Big Bass Eats A Spinnerbait)

Chickamauga was amazing! We'd never been to the lake but we had heard the rumors! Is it as good as they say? Can we catch a bunch of fish? How about a big bass? Come along as we head out on the water to see what all the fuss is about on Tennessee's best trophy bass lake. Spoiler Alert: Its good and we catch some big ones!

In 3 days we never struggled to get a bite and we caught fish on every lure that we threw. From senkos up shallow to deep cranks offshore, there we bass everywhere! The trick was figuring out how to catch the big ones but after a few days we got it dialed in and had an amazing time catching quality fish all over the lake The key for the bigger bites was shad. There was a shad spawn in the morning and the big bass were keying in on the opportunity.

Below is a breakdown of the baits and equipment we used during our time on the lake. Baits are listed in order of appearance as we caught fish on a variety of lures. If you ever get the chance, take a day to fish Chickamauga, its an awesome fishery!

Matt found an All-Around Rod This Trip that was unbelievably universal. From senko to spinnerbait, swim jig to Keitech, he was able to use a single rod. That's extremely rare but the combination of soft tip and solid back bone made the MBR amazingly versatile.

Spinnerbait Tricks For Spring Bass Fishing

These quick tips will take your spinnerbait fishing to the next level! From color selection and blade style, to subtle changes in retrieve cadence, we're giving you the tools you need to begin catching bass right away. Whether you're fishing muddy creeks or crystal clear lakes, we explain the changes that will make you successful.

Spinnerbaits are amongst the easiest baits to fish for bass. A simple "chuck and wind" approach will catch fish most days. But like any technique, subtleties make all the difference! Below is a breakdown of our favorite spinnerbaits, trailers, and gear. They're sorted by water clarity and style to keep it as simple as possible. Keep in mind the best weight depends on how deep you're fishing but 1/2 oz is by far the most versatile.
