4 Must Try Baits When Bass Refuse To Bite!

Do your bass have lock jaw? Ours too! Here are the baits we turn to when absolutely nothing is working. When the going gets tough, confidence is everything. These 4 baits in very specific colors are what we turn to when the bass just don't want to bite.

Spring bass fishing is full of big bass, fun patterns, and aggressive strikes. Its also full of cold fronts, rising water, post-frontal wind storms, and freezing temperatures. When the tables are turned against you its important to know what to do next. Matt and Tim were faced with very tough conditions today and adapted accordingly. While the bite remained tough, they fished with confidence knowing they were making the right choices in spite of the circumstances.

The next time you're faced with less than ideal weather, turn to finesse baits to get bit. You know how much we love to power fish but some days it just isn't worth it. Below is a break down of the 4 baits we confidently tied on in pursuit of lock-jawed bass.

Crankbait Tricks For Spring Bass Fishing (Everything You Need To Know)

No secrets are safe in today's in-depth look at Spring crankbait fishing! From shallow square bills to deep diving cranks, from bright red crawdad colors to water temperatures, nothing is sacred in this video! If you want to catch more bass on crankbaits, this video is for you. Learn how to adapt your crankbaits with water temperature, phase of the spawn, and weather. Crankbaits constantly catch giant bass for the angler that knows how to adapt to changing conditions, you're about to become that angler!

Crankbaits have an incredible ability to TRIGGER a feed response in bass. When a bait is fished properly and deflected off cover a bass is triggered at a core level. They simply have to bite, regardless of mood. Understanding how to apply that information to your fishing will change your entire crankbait fishing experience. Learning when to change diving depths, sizes,  and colors, will take it to the next level.

In today's video Matt shares the 6 categories of crankbait the Tactical crew uses in Spring. He focuses on 5 of them in this video and Tim will follow up shortly with the 6th. Below you will find a breakdown of those 5 main categories, Matt's best confidence baits for each category, recommended colors, and so much more.

Early Spring A-Rig Tricks For Prespawn Bass

The A-rig is an awesome way to catch bass in early Spring! Few baits will cover water as quickly and draw fish up as well as an Alabama Rig. With some quick adjustments your Winter A-Rigs can be adapted for Prespawn fishing. Come along for a day on the water and learn as you watch Tim target bass in dock lines.

In today's video Tim primarily used a bladed 5-wire rig. The blades create commotion in the water and help draw fish off the bottom when the water is still cold. However, when Tim found clear water he quickly changed to a rig with no blades and baits with a tighter kicking action to continue getting bit. In addition to the changes in rig, Tim also explained the advantage of gold vs. silver blades. As a final tip, he was able to go ultra slow by dropping down to 1/8 ounce heads to get fish to react in the cold water.

By paying close attempting to water color, temperature, and fish behavior Tim (and you) were able to adapt to the changing conditions with adjustments to retrieve speed and presentation to keep getting bit. In addition to his depth finder Tim also used his 360 imaging to spot fish out away from the boat and get a few bonus bites that he wouldn't have been able to get without. Below is a breakdown of the rigs, baits, and equipment Tim was using in the video.
