Tube Fishing Tricks For Fall Bass! (Beginner To Advanced)

The Ned Rig has replaced the tube on a lot of fisheries but wise bass fishermen know that the Finesse Tube will always be a staple lure, especially for Fall bass! Tim is giving away his best tricks to catching tube fish including how change fall rate, fall angle, actions, shapes, colors, and more! Get ready to learn everything you need to know about bass fishing with a tube.

So many anglers think of a tube as a 1-dimensional lure that catches lethargic bass. This could not be farther from the truth! It works great for lethargic bass but its also an effective tool when snapped for shallow bass, spiraled for suspended bass, or hopped in deep water. Once you learn the many uses for a finesse tube you'll always want to have one close by.

While ultralight light and small tubes is the "norm", don't be afraid to step out and fish the bigger tubes on heavier gear, even casting rods. When it comes to equipment, a heavy tube is no different than fishing a jig, shaky head, or Texas rig. Below you'll find a break down of the different baits, colors, heads, and equipment that Tim uses to fish his tubes.

Fishing a Tiny Creek With Crystal Clear Water For Big Fish!

This tiny creek has crystal clear water and there are so many big fish just swimming around! We never would have believed a creek this small could have so many quality fish if we didn't see it for ourselves. Today we're exploring a hidden creek that everyone overlooks in search of big Smallmouth Bass. Its an adventure full of big fish, shallow water, thick brush, and a whole lot of fun!

While kayaking a little creek in a farmer's field isn't everyone's idea of fun, it brought us back to our roots. Its important to take a trip or two every year that refocuses you on why you love fishing so much. We all grew up stream fishing so this drift reconnected each of us with our love of fishing. It certainly helped that there were big bass around every corner!

At the start, the plan was to explore this untouched section of creek from the kayaks. We weren't sure we could get them down stream and as it turns out, we got stuck a few times. We knew there were quality fish in the deeper sections but weren't sure how to catch them. With 3 kayaks, we were able to try a variety of lures and to our amazement, all of them worked!

Below is a breakdown of the baits we used to fool these bass. Fall bass fishing is incredible on big lakes and tiny creeks so don't be afraid to get out there and catch some fish this Fall!

5 Finesse Fishing Tricks For Early Fall Bass

Early Fall can be awesome bass fishing! The fish are gorging on baitfish as we head toward the cooler months. You can throw all sorts of reaction baits to catch them but what do you do when conditions don't line up and the fishing gets tough? Do you struggle to catch fish when everyone else is talking about how great it is? Today you're going to learn to finesse fish through the tough days and its going to make a huge difference for you!

Tim loves to power fish but when the going gets tough he immediately reaches for finesse tackle. The beauty of Fall is that bass become incredibly predictable. As the grass dies back the fish pull up against hard cover. Dock pilings, lay down trees, rocks, etc... all become easy targets that consistently hold bass. Because fish are pulling to cover you can fish effectively with slow moving baits like dropshot, tube, Neko rig, etc.

We're not suggesting that you stop reaction fishing (Crankbaits, spinnerbaits, swimbaits, etc...) during the Fall. Instead, recognize there are great opportunities for both fishing styles and when the fish stop responding to fast moving baits, immediately slow down. You'll be amazed how many fish you can catch on what would have been a very tough day.

Below is a breakdown of the baits and tackle that Tim shows in the video, including key colors for Fall fishing.
