Bed Fishing Tricks With Amazing Underwater Footage!

Let's head underwater to watch spawning bass eat bluegill swimbaits, jigs, and a variety of finesse baits. We're watching their behavior and learning how to adapt bait selection and equipment to catch bigger bed fish. If you're fishing during the spawn but don't consider yourself an "excellent bed fisherman", this video is for you!

Most anglers think of a big white creature bait and shallow water when its time to go bed fishing. The reality is sight fishing season is as diverse as any other time of year. There are a variety of baits for various conditions, sizes of fish, and water clarities. Knowing when to use each bait, how to lure strikes, and when to set the hook, is going to make you a much more efficient bed fisherman.

Below is a breakdown of the baits and equipment discussed in the video as well as some key color recommendations that break the norm. Don't be afraid to get out of your comfort zone, throw some different baits, and catch a new personal best this Spring!

Fishing the spawn is all about boat positioning. Our Talons make a huge difference! The advantage of Talons over a trolling motor is that the prop is never turning but you're still able to sit perfectly still. If you've considered Shallow Water Anchors give Talons a look.

How To Sight Fish When Its NOT EASY!

Got Wind? Got Murky Water? Don't worry! You can still catch those fish! We've talked in the past about how to target bed fish that you can't see at all by flipping likely cover. In this video we're talking about how to catch them when conditions get tough.

We've all been in the situation where our plan is destroyed by weather. Either the wind picks up, or the water gets muddy, or visibility is lost due to cloud cover or algae, and we're left high and dry. When this happens most anglers simply quit sight fishing and move on to other patterns. Don't be that guy!

If you're the only guy that can still sight fish during a "tough" day, you're going to be the guy that wins the tournament, or who gets that trophy fish you've been dreaming about. The key is to move quickly, look very thoroughly, and not get hung up on only targeting big bass.

Good glasses are KEY during tough conditions! We've said this before and we'll say it again, spending a ton of money on glasses doesn't make them the best. If you haven't tried a set of Eye Surrenders in either Amber or Copper lenses, it will make a world of difference for you when the conditions get tough and you're trying to see into darker than normal water. Here are the glasses...

If you're in a tournament that is expecting 30 lbs and the conditions get tough, drop the expectation to 20 and just focus on catching. If they're expecting 20 lbs, drop to 12-15 lbs. By targeting slightly smaller fish you'll find that you become very consistent when everyone else is hitting rock bottom, just trying to catch tiny fish.

This is the one time that we break our own rule and start using very bold lure colors. Whites, Chartreuses, and pinks are all great choices. Remember, this typically isn't the time for giant baits. Focus on smaller profiles that are easier to see so you can capitalize on ever opportunity that presents itself. Here are some of our favorites for those tough days...

Dropshot- Reaction Innovations Shiver Shot: http://bit.ly/2JCpY7S
(White Trash or Morning Dawn)

Texas Rig- Reaction Innovations Smallie Beaver: http://bit.ly/2dR6CkP
(White Trash)

Shaky Head- Strike King Fat Baby Finesse Worm: http://bit.ly/2jqIGEJ
(Fire Tiger, Morning Dawn)

Swimbait- Keitech 3.8 or 4.3: http://bit.ly/2ab7s8v
(Male Perch, Sight Flash, Sun Gill)

Stick Bait- Yamamoto Senko 5": http://bit.ly/2axAmNS
(Chartreuse/Shad Laminate, Morning Dawn, Cream White)

The next time tough conditions present themselves don't back down. Move into the shallows, look as deep as you can, and be the guy that makes it happen instead of the guy talking about what could have been!

Spawning Bass Tips! Muddy Water? Cold Water? No Problem!

Forget the old rules! This isn't about white baits and spawning coves! Muddy Water? Cold Water? Get ready!! its about finding bass before everyone else, in places no one else looks, and catching fish when no one else even knows the spawn is happening!

We all grew up reading about how to catch bass during the spawn. We don't need to cover the basics again (we already did that in previous videos). Today we want to completely change the way you approach spawning fish.

Let's talk about cold water spawns, targeting bass in muddy water, and even false spawns in the Fall. Get ready!

Epic Underwater Footage!! **With Bed Fishing Tricks**

Wonder why some guys always catch BIG BASS? Here's the trick to catching big ones during the spawn! Most anglers use the same baits, same gear, and same "tricks" year after year while expecting to suddenly have different results. Don't keep following the same old routine this Spring, its time for change!
