100 Bass Challenge With A Lucky Subscriber!

Huge thanks to Alex Centner for coming all the way from Arizona to shoot this 100 fish challenge with us! It was a grind but we pulled it off! 100 bass plus some bonus crappie and bluegill!

How many fish have you caught in one day? Catching huge numbers of fish requires focus and commitment but if you take the time to locate actively schooling fish it can be done. By covering water quickly with fast moving baits like the spinnerbait and chatterbait we were able to identify areas that had concentrations of fish. Once the fish were located we were able to slow down with finesse presentations and catch the numbers we were looking for.

Here's what we used to catch them...

Shaky Head Fishing

Learn how to adapt the shaky head for Spring bass fishing including tips like shortening the worm and changing the way you work the bait to minimize short strikes once the transition to spawn begins.

We've talked about how to throw a shaky head for Summer and Winter Bass but the shaky head is also a deadly bait during the prespawn. Its not the most glamorous way to get a big bite but its incredibly effective. This method shines especially during the transition to the spawn. Once bass have bulked up for the spawn they become lazy as they wait for their eggs to mature. This is prime time to pick up the shakey head and load the boat with bass that aren't willing to chase a faster moving bait.

Winter Worm Fishing: Shaky Heads Plus an All New Rig!

Shaky Heads are a great way to catch bass throughout the year but there is a new way to rig your soft plastics for Winter Bass Fishing! Check out this video for a dual approach to catching bass in cold water.

The Free Swinging Wacky Rig is a new bass fishing technique that you probably haven't heard of. We combine either a Dirty Jigs or Freedom Tackle jighead where the head and the hook are loosely connected. Paired with a plastic worm you get incredible action that will catch the most pressured bass.

When the bite is wide open stick to the shaky head but when the fishing gets tough or the water gets cold and you're wondering how to catch a bass, try this wacky rig method.
