Do Bass Eat Bluegill Swimbaits? Underwater Video!

We cast a bluegill swimbait to an aggressive largemouth and watch him tear it apart! He wasn't afraid to eat the swimbait over and over! We hope you enjoy the underwater footage!

This underwater video is different from what we've done in the past. This is one of a series of underwater bass fishing videos we'll be rolling out in the coming weeks that don't have voice over or other audio. The purpose of these videos is simply to watch bass in their natural habitats and watch how they respond to swimbaits, jigs, worms, etc.

Its amazing what you can learn by simply watching the fish's interactions with each other and with the lures.

Matt Loses A 15 lb Bass At The Net! | Painful Fish Story

Matt had the 15 lber right up to the edge of the net! When she came off his swimbait flew by his head like a bullet! Worse yet, she didn't even know she was free and just kept thrashing! It was horrible!

Matt was throwing an 8" Huddleston Deluxe Swimbait in a large pond from an aluminum boat when the monster bass bit. He was using gear that wasn't strong enough and it was all he could do to battle the giant bass! Losing that fish has replayed in Matt's mind hundreds if not thousands of times and even now remains as a constant reminder to keep his gear dialed in and stay focused at all times.

Fishing With Underspins On Clearlake

Matt takes you out for a day on Clearlake throwing an underspin. With water levels receeding the fishing is more difficult than normal so Matt abandons his typical power techniques in favor of a small underspin.

Bass fishing with an underspin is a great way to catch bass when conditions get tough. If you were on a spinnerbait or crankbait bite and the conditions get tougher consider switching to an underspin and you might just reactivate your fish.

The key is the combination of swimbait and flashing blade. The blade causes the lure to stand out from the shad or other baitfish so the bass are more likely to eat it. If you haven't fallen in love with the underspin, its time to give it a try!

The Only Time an 11 Lber Was a Let Down...

The night started like any other as we searched for trophy bass in the dark. But on this night things were going to go so right and so wrong in ways we never saw coming. A bent out hook cost us a MONSTER Bass!

Fishing for trophy bass is never easy so when you get a bite its very important that you do everything you can to capitalize and get that big bass in the boat. Unfortunately sometimes you do everything right and the bass still wins the battle.

Remember there are a lot of variables that are outside of your control when fishing for big bass. Make sure that you're putting the odds in your favor by preparing your gear and using the best equipment you can for the job. Sharp hooks, strong line, the right rod and reel, are all essential to your success. You can't control what the bass is going to do but you can make sure your gear is ready for the fight.
