Soft swimbaits are a great way to catch fish, but they have one major drawback… their durability. They frequently rip and tear around their harness. With the price of these lures often being $20 or more, it’s only reasonable to want to get the most out if them. Matt shows an easy way to extend the life of soft swimbaits in the video below!
We all have those days on the water where we just can’t seem to keep a fish hooked. Recently, I had one of those nights. I hope you enjoy watching me look foolish over and over again! Turn the sound up as the video will begin in darkness.
Largemouth aren’t the only species you can catch after dark! We had a fun trip catching smallmouth the other night. It was a fairly mixed bite, we caught fish on weightless senko’s, crankbaits, and Jackall Flickshakes. The water was gin clear, there was a light breeze and we were fishing rip rap in 5-20ft of water. Here’s Matt with a quality smallmouth on a crankbait!
When it comes to night fishing, you either love it or you hate it. Personally, I love it! Most people think of warm summer nights and a bright moon when they think of night fishing. I on the other hand think of the cooler months and windy, cold, rainy, and even snowy conditions! Nothing beats a wide open night bite in below-freezing conditions!
As my night fishing season approaches you will see more and more videos on how/when/where to night fish as well as the techniques that we use. To kick off the night fishing season Kirk and I headed out a few nights ago to throw some wakebaits at a few of our favorite haunts. The fishing wasn’t at its prime but we still landed a few fish. here is the first, on a Rago Rat.
