Tim and Matt provide a master class on making the right bait and color choices for moving out of summer and into the fall transition. They both have their favorites and we bet you will have a blast putting their choices head to head on your own body of water as the summer heat fades away.
The Challenge: Catch 10 bass on 10 different baits in 20 minutes on a Clearlake, on the weekend, with heavy angling pressure. There are 14 rods on deck just in case something goes wrong. Here we go!
The challenge begins with Matt setting his Minn Kota Talons so that the boat doesn't move during the entire challenge. The goal is to catch all these fish without ever moving the boat!
He gets bit on the first cast, ultimately losing the fish. Several casts later the first fish is in the boat! Several minutes later he catches a Clearlake, California Smallmouth. On this lake Smallmouth are called "Unicorns" because they're so incredibly rare!
In the end Matt isn't able to complete the challenge, catching only 6 of the 10 bass he was searching for. He gives some great information along the way about retrieves, lure speed, and how to catch bass in Fall and Summer.

The boys of Tactical Bassin’ want to push their bass fishing to the limit this summer. Can they catch 50 bass in one outing? Take a look and see which techniques and methods they use to try and boat a mountain of fish before the time runs out.
100 miles through floating debris fields, 44 degree temps, but the Smallmouth were chewing! Tim caught his 7 lber the evening before so no matter what was in front of us we were going to make it back for more!
The smallmouth were sitting on current seams and ledges in 5 to 18 feet of water. We used a combination of swimbaits and crankbaits to trigger the schools into feeding and then the slugfest began! This was one of the most viscious feeding sessions we've ever seen with smallmouth bass.
