Fishing Kayak Put To The Test! 10 Miles Of Fishing In One Day!

Today was a marathon! Tim knew he'd be covering some serious water to reach his first spot but had no idea he'd cover 10 miles with a rod in hand before the day was done! Come along as he fishes Chickamauga, puts his Old Town Sportsman to the test, and dodges lightning bolts on the water!

Some days go exactly as planned and others turn into a marathon. We decided to share this video because it highlights the realities of bass fishing. There are good days and bad. Some days you catch giants, other days they come off at the boat. Its all a part of the sport we love and we often only focus on the good. Tim made some great decisions today, put safety first, and managed to get a few bites along the way.

Below you'll find links to the exact baits and equipment he used throughout the day. We've included exact colors and sizes for your reference as well. All the links go directly to Tackle Warehouse where you can see detailed photos and descriptions of each item.

Does Technology Help You Catch More Fish? Humminbird Mega 360

Live Imaging, Side Imaging, Down Imaging, Sonar, 360... there are so many options! Do you really need all this technology?! How do you choose between them? Does all this tech really help you catch more fish? Today we're taking an in-depth look at Humminbird's Mega 360 Imaging!

We've had 360 imaging on our boats for several years, and mega 360 for the past year. We've spent countless hours using the technology before we voiced our opinions. To answer the initial question, you can catch fish without ANY technology at all. However, understanding and applying these new tools to your fishing will absolutely lead to more fish catches. Mega 360 imaging is an incredible tool and one we will continue to use for many years to come.

Are you wondering why we aren't talking about LIVE imaging yet? We will! We need more time to test this technology so we can speak with authority, rather than speculation. However, we can already say with confidence that if your budget allows, live sonar technologies and 360 imaging complement each other incredibly well. One is remarkable at identifying structure and fish positioning around structure, while the other is remarkable at helping you trigger strikes while watching the fish interact with your lure.

360 SETTING RECOMMENDATIONS...

Sensitivity: 12

Contrast: 14

Range: 55ft

Speed: 4

TIPS TO DIAL IN YOUR 360 IMAGING...

-Keep your range rings turned on at all times.

-Remember your boat icon is not to scale and adjust your cast accordingly.

-Your clearest picture will be when the boat is stationary.

-Signal readout: brighter readouts are harder bottom than dull readouts.

-Watching the shadow behind a structure will give a clearer picture of what you're seeing.

-The slower the unit's speed, the clearer the picture. However, you'll have a longer delay between

real time and what you're seeing.

How To Fish A Shaky Head - Everything You Need To Know! (Beginner To Advanced)

Every bass fisherman should know how to fish a shaky head. We're going to give you the beginner basics, as well as some very advanced information on head shapes, line ties, worms, and creatures. Whether you're a brand new angler or a tournament pro, there is information here that will help you catch more fish!

If you just want to catch a few fish on a shakey head, a basic head and a 6" straight tail worm will almost always get the job done. But if you're ready to jump down the rabbit hole with us, we look at 4 factors when choosing our heads. The head style,  the hook brand (and shape), the keeper system, and the line tie. When it comes to baits we look at bait size, color, tail shape, and ability to float.

Below you'll find links to the exact baits and heads discussed in the video. We've included sizes, exact color recommendations, and any other pertinent information to help you make your best selections. All the links go directly to Tackle Warehouse where you can see detailed photos and descriptions of each item.

3 Topwater Tricks For Late Summer Bass Fishing!

The dog days of Summer have arrived! Catching bass on topwater is really simple, but there are some tricks! It doesn't matter if you fish reservoirs, swamps, or ponds, here are 3 tips that will simplify your topwater fishing this Summer.

The second half of Summer requires more attention to detail. The bass have seen a lot of baits the past few months and standing out from the crowd will become more important as each day passes. We recommend fishing the extremes. Focus on baits that are significantly larger, and significantly smaller than the "normal" offerings. Additionally, targeting fish during low light periods with fast moving baits and high sun periods with subtle presentations will increase your odds.

Below you'll find links to our favorite baits for each topwater category. We've included our favorite colors for each, as well as the equipment we use to fish them. All the links go directly to Tackle Warehouse where you can see detailed photos and descriptions of each item.
