Fall Bass Fishing: How To Catch Bass On Spoons

Spoon fishing is easy! Its one of the oldest fishing techniques but most anglers don't have any idea how to fish spoons for bass. The trick to getting bit on a spoon is in the details. From line material to colors, to drop speed, the subtle changes are the difference between catching and wasting time.

As the cool nights set in, the jigging spoon bite is the best it will be all year. Don't be afraid to head out to deeper water in search of schooling fish. If you can find bass around baitfish you've got the recipe for quick success.

We use a variety of spoons to catch the bass. Matching the size of the baitfish can be very important so don't be afraid to change sizes, even switching to a tail spinner or underpin when the bite slows. But if you need a place to start, the 1 3/4 oz Blade Runner is the most consistent producer amongst our spoons.

Bass Fishing: Best Baits For Fall Fishing

Look inside Matt's day box at what he's really using! There are no secrets, no hidden baits, these are the baits we're taking to the lake to catch fish right now. From Shallow to deep, big to small, it all fits in a single Plano box.

Many anglers complicate their Fall bass fishing but it doesn't have to be that way. With just a small handful of baits we're able to cover virtually any circumstance that could arise. The real beauty of this box is that it will catch fish in almost any water temp, water clarity, and regardless of what sort of baitfish the bass are eating.

Do you have any favorite baits that aren't in the box? Some would say the spinnerbait or chatter bait are missing (and they are) but for most Fall fishing conditions the Underspin, square bill, and lipless will fill the void.

Below is a breakdown of the baits in the box...

Ned Rig Vs Dropshot Challenge - Girl vs Girl

Tonya and CC are going head to head with the Drop shot and the Ned Rig! Which one will be victorious? Come along for a fun day on the water with a couple women who really know how to fish! The girls locate fish, dial in the pattern, and have some fun along the way.

How To Catch Striped Bass

From Topwater to Swimbaits, we show you how to target big striped bass! If you've ever wanted to catch Striper on artificial lures, this information will help you be more successful. Come along for an exciting day on the water!

We begin throwing big swimbaits in the early morning hours. As the day unfolds we transition to a combination of swimbaits, topwater both big and small, and swim jigs. This combination allowed us to maximize our time on the water, increase or shot a big bites, without catching too many smaller fish.

Traditional striper fishing involves cut bait, rattle traps, and small topwater lures. These are all incredibly effective ways to catch striped bass, but they're not great ways to consistently TARGET Big Striped Bass. We use a combination of swimbaits and topwater to eliminate the smaller bites and more effectively target the big bass that we're searching for.
